POSITION PAPER – Irrigation: the missing link in Europe’s Water Resilience Strategy
The European Irrigation Association (EIA) welcomes the European Commission’s Water Resilience Strategy (WRS) as a timely and necessary initiative. EIA supports the Strategy’s ambitions to enhance both quantity and quality of water resources, and to build a ‘Water-Smart’ economy based on the ‘Water Efficiency Principle’.

The European Irrigation Association (EIA) is deeply concerned over the economic strain caused by recent US tariffs on EU imports, as well as the potential repercussions of EU retaliatory measures targeting US exports
The EIA finalized the Position paper : “Sustainable Irrigation – Focus on the framework of the EU Taxonomy”
The EIA’s aim is not only to integrate Sustainable Irrigation within the European framework, but to also provide a univocal basis for measuring and improving the performance of the value chain and foster the sector’s sustainable transition.
