Based in Parma, Italy, PlantBit is an innovative start-up at the forefront of plant physiology monitoring and precision agriculture technologies. The company is pioneering a new approach to irrigation management through its in vivo biosensor, the “Bioristor.”

By being directly inserted into the plant stem, the Bioristor measures sap dynamics and ionic concentration in real time, enabling the early detection of plant water stress—up to 48 hours earlier than traditional methods. This direct measurement of plant response represents a significant step forward in understanding crop water needs with greater accuracy and timeliness.
