EIA sets up a working group on the impact of US customs duties on the European irrigation industry

The European Commission has launched a consultation on the new US tariffs impacting EU goods — with a deadline of 10 June. Given the serious implications for the European irrigation sector, the EIA will submit a formal contribution to represent our interests.

To act swiftly, The EIA setting up a Task Force to gather technical and economic input from affected members.

Policy coordination and drafting support will be provided by Aliénor, EIA long-standing EU affairs partner. The full process is designed to be lean and effective — with Task Force meetings and finalisation scheduled before the Commission’s deadline

Key elements of the plan:

  *   Member outreach and call for input (26–28 May)

  *   Task Force meeting (2 June)

  *   Drafting and review process (4–6 June)

  *   Submission to the European Commission (10 June)

This is a crucial opportunity to defend Irrigation sector’s interests at EU level.
