Call for innovations marketing support, INNOWISE
The EU commission issued a call to support the marketing of 40 innovations oriented toward water saving. The 2022 call is closed but will be re-issued, this note intends to help get prepared…
Coming from EIT (European Institute for Innovation and Technology) priority: Finding innovative solutions for water scarcity in southern Europe
EIT aims at turning good ideas into reality and creating KIC (Knowledge and innovation Communities) to promote sustainable growth and creating jobs. EIT exists since 3 years, is co-financed by EC and private sector, acts as service provider. This program is reaching its end but will continue further with redefined priorities in 2023, food, water, ag, cities will stay focal points. We are in the loop now…
Objectives to help progress on innovative technology adoption: technologies are existing but are not known/transferred/adopted.
EIT relies on a network of experts organizing technical seminars and round tables sessions (recently on wastewater reuse or water pricing) targeting end-users (one is organized in Malaga 6th of July on Water for Ag) and addressing policy, economics and risks. EIT leads a water scarcity program that involves several KIC (see paper1), and has a large communication activity including to citizens through expert groups and site visits.
Innowise (closed 3rd of May): parts of the food KIC initiative, intends to carry innovation to end-users, many of the proposals are digital oriented (sensors, softwares…). This program is design to help innovation access to the market (support to demonstration, meeting with potential clients). Focus on water utilities for Ag, cities and industry today, will continue in the future.
Another initiative may be of interest, the New European Bauhaus initiative (closed 29th of April) part of a Cross-KIC initiative: dedicated to the empowerment of end-users and citizens oriented solutions to transform cities and peri-urban areas toward more circular practices (includes, NBS, urban ag and urban refreshment).
