Bernard Lamy, a leading figure in European irrigation, passed away in Aix-en-Provence on Saturday, December 2 2023

It is with great sadness that the Lamy family announces the death of their father, husband, grandfather and father-in-law, Bernard Lamy on Saturday, December 2, 2023.

As you know, Bernard Lamy founded the European Irrigation Association in 1996, helped his wife Françoise Lamy in the creation of Irrigazette Magazine in 1991 and has been of the pioneer of the development of the Irrigation industry in Europe.

He began his career with Rain Bird Europe in 1972, helping to set up the European subsidiary. He then set up his own company, BJ Lamy International, in 1978, and helped establish the American brands Hunter, Nelson NIC, LR Nelson and Hozelock in Europe.
