EIA Sub-Working Group Plastics in Irrigation held its first Meeting on April 11, 2022

  •  Compose the EIA-PWG position statement (vision) for the use of plastic in irrigation.

3. Main insights and decisions

It was agreed:

• sWG’s meetings will be held on a bi-monthly basis.
• Map the different irrigation products that we should refer to when addressing “irrigation plastic”.
• Set the creation of an awareness campaign for the correct use of irrigation plastics as a longer time-bound goal.
• Create a list of plastic collection services in the different countries.
• Call for non-dripline companies in the association to join the group.
• Map the plastic irrigation products that are currently being circulated-recycled.
• Publish the main highlights of the sWG in the EIA website

It was suggested to reach out to other IA, possibly in the USA, to check what opportunity we can find with them.
